The Opportunity

We are looking for a Senior Quality Engineer with deep experience in Design Controls and Risk Analysis for complex medical devices to join our growing team developing life-changing active implantable devices.

We need a team player who loves co-designing with our Engineering teams and helping them build processes to make compliance as easy as possible and documentation that demonstrates world-class understanding of how to make safe and effective complex devices (our documentation is often shared with clients and potential clients and is a portion of our marketing).

In this role, you will report to our Co-Owners, and you will be primarily responsible for overseeing and executing Risk Management Activities and helping with Design Control Documentation for products in design. You will also work with our QEs and QAs for ongoing production support (NCMRs, CAPAs, etc.) and will be pulled in for legacy product support as needed.

This is a full-time, salaried position starting immediately in our Salt Lake City office.

Key Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in an engineering discipline.
  • 5+ years experience working as a Quality Engineer in support of a commercially available Class II/III active implantable medical device.
  • Background in electronics or software engineering for medical devices.
  • Experience maintaining and creating Risk Management documents for products under Design Control and/or Released Products (includes Requirements facilitation, Risk Management Plan/Report, Preliminary Hazard Analysis, Risk Analysis Document, Risk Management File, Design FMEA, Software FMEA).
  • Extensive experience with new product introduction activities with product design transfer efforts, implementing processes, reviewing, and approving plans and reports and supporting qualifications and validations per (820.30 & ISO 13485:2016 Section7.3) for class II and III medical devices.
  • Internal and/or external auditing experience.

  • Software Design Lifecycle experience.
