Job Description

Company:  Sense is transforming healthcare by redefining diagnostics. Our Veros™ instrument-free molecular platform empowers doctors and patients by delivering diagnostic results that can be trusted, in a way never thought possible.

Backed by some of the most respected venture capital firms in the world, we are a rapidly growing Company that is launching an entirely new class of diagnostic product: a rapid, disposable, instrument-free molecular product platform delivering the “gold standard” performance of laboratory testing without the constraints of costly instruments or readers.

We believe our approach enables better access, better outcomes, and better value across every aspect of healthcare.  Sense is aggressively growing from its strong research and development foundation and emerging as the global leader in this exciting new segment of healthcare.

The Role and Responsibilities:  An exciting opportunity to join our growing product development team designing next generation clinical diagnostic products. The role is flexible but will be focused mainly on the hands-on development of functional solutions to overcome engineering challenges but always with a view to how these fit with the product user experience. The role is primarily technical and will be likely to involve the use of 3D CAD, engineering calculations, prototyping, and testing to design and demonstrate performance of novel mechanisms and technology, however, applicants with skill sets and experience across the spectrum of product development are encouraged, as a small but fast-growing company roles can be adapted to meet the skill set of the best individuals. Above the core requirements for the role applicants will benefit from any additional knowledge of invitro diagnostics, manufacturing processes, medical device regulation and electronics. The position will also expose the candidate to a wide variety of both technical and non-technical opportunities only possible in a small and dynamic start-up organisation. The role presents a rare opportunity to significantly impact the future of global healthcare.

Applicant: Candidates with all levels of experience are encouraged. Candidates are likely to have graduated with a Bachelors or Masters qualification in Product Design/Mechanical/Biomedical Engineering (or equivalent). The role will suit somebody who is practically minded and hands-on and who will enjoy the opportunity to be involved in the wide variety of tasks necessary in new product development. The ideal candidate will be motivated by the prospect of working in a fast-paced start-up environment and who is eager to learn new skills as well as implement those they have. Candidates are expected to have a high standard of written English.

Package: Competitive (including share options and bonus).
