This position will lead time studies, DOE development, develop, implement and enhance new product and line production. We are seeking a dynamic, hard-working professional with a successful, mechanical engineering background in the manufacturing industry. This person will need to have strong problem solving, analytical and communication skills, with a desire to work for a fast-paced organization and strong perseverance to get through any setbacks that hit the production line. Please visit Madison at Responsibilities Essential functions and responsibilities: Provide support to the site via timely transitions of new business opportunities to operations, root cause investigation and implementation of resolution to quality issues, productivity improvement and waste reduction. Drive cost-savings initiatives and implement continuous improvement strategies for all production processes. Coordinates activities related to the industrialization and transfer of new products. Functions as project manager and implementer for process related capital improvement projects. Practice continuous improvement strategies while continually monitoring production activities (rates & yields) and support services in order to increase productivity and product quality while reducing waste. Solicit and provide ideas for the elimination of waste, continuous improvement and defect prevention. Initialize or provide input for part production instruction changes or updates. Develop/update procedures/training documents. Perform new equipment initial production runs and develop the necessary standard operating procedures to ensure the safety of our production staff. Design and Development: Initiate, design, develop and optimize Manufacturing/Converting assets and supporting processes Develop knowledge and skills to be recognized as an implementer of engineering principles and /or scientific analysis in meeting unit objectives. Support implementation of the loss control improvement process by compliance with critical safety rules. Visibly demonstrate that safety is a value by following safety procedures, maintaining a safe workplace and complying with safety rules. Develop equipment, processes and products that meet safety codes, policies and guidelines. Security and Documentation: Maintain security and documentation to ensure the retrieval of data and protection of proprietary information. Utilize strong problem-solving skills particularly in use of DMAIC and Lean Six Sigma tools Effectively demonstrate strong communication skills to effectively interface with internal and external customers. Human Resources Development: Assist in the development of others in the area of his/her expertise, while demonstrating an understanding of those with a diverse background or experience. Improve process capability to deliver a reduction in defects and variability. Identify, develop, and implement products, processes, materials, systems, and procedures to achieve business objectives and drive continuous improvement. Contribute to an environment in which all team members are respected regardless of their individual differences and are motivated to improve both their individual and team contributions to achieve desired business results. Collaborate with Operations in creating sustainable resolves to process and equipment problems. Provide feedback and propose process corrective actions to drive continued improvement goals Be a steward to drive engagement and adoption of processes and programs to support our commitment to Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, Inventory and People and 80/20 mindset. Qualifications Four (4) year B.S. degree in Engineering. Previous experience with polyurethane foam systems and manufacturing highly preferred. Previous experience with Lean and Six Sigma a plus Previous Operational Leadership a plus Authorized to work in the US (no sponsorships) Excellent written and oral communication skills Strong problem-solver, using structured approaches as well as creativity Strong work ethic and sense of urgency High energy, positive attitude, hands on with the ability to keep multiple projects on track Basic understanding of lean manufacturing techniques and a strong focus on continuous improvement Hands-on experience with automation implementation including project scope development, machine & tool specifications, project management and cost justification desired Familiarity ISO and industry quality standards. Previous experience with polyurethane foam systems and manufacturing highly preferred. Previous experience with Lean and Six Sigma a plus
