The Opportunity Biolinq (San Diego, CA) is seeking a full-time firmware engineer to participate in the development of our Continuous Glucose Monitoring system. As a member of the Biolinq team, you will have the opportunity to work in an exciting startup environment and contribute to the course of product development, design, and implementation of cutting-edge technology. Responsibilities Design, development and test of embedded software for power-constrained wearable medical device applications • Low-power embedded systems design and development using C/C++ using various development tools (i.e., IDEs, PDKs, SDKs, compiler toolchains, hardware and software debuggers) • Over-the-air firmware updates and debugging using JTAG and other hardware-enabled interfaces • Microcontroller firmware development, including communication with peripheral devices, such as sensor front ends, transducers, flash memory, and wireless radios • Ensure reliable data transfer to connected mobile devices using various Bluetooth Low Energy connection protocols • Architect and build automated embedded test frameworks for proprietary sensor synthesis and characterization platforms • Architect and test embedded software routines for sensor manufacturing, including interfacing with manufacturing equipment • Document the architecture, requirements, design and validation of embedded software releases according to Company quality system procedures • Other duties as assigned Education, Experience and Key Skills BS Degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent • 2 years of relevant experience with firmware development for embedded systems • Strong programming experience on multiple platforms and languages including C/C++ • Prior experience in FDA regulated medical device development is desired • Experience with Bluetooth Low Energy and IoT systems is highly preferred • Familiarity with ARM® CortexTM microcontroller architectures is preferred • Experience trouble-shooting with standard electrical test equipment, including multimeters, power supplies, function generators, oscilloscopes, logic / serial decode analyzers, and protocol analyzers • Experience with power-constrained system design and optimization, with particular emphasis on sensor embedded systems • Highly motivated self-starter with a positive attitude • Analytical approach to problem solving with a proven track record for solving difficult problems • Ability to interface across scientific and engineering teams and work in a fast-paced, multi-disciplinary environment • Ability to manage multiple projects and communicate ideas clearly to the team; highly methodical and detail oriented • Strong written and verbal communication skills At Biolinq we fully subscribe to the principles of Equal Employment Opportunity.
