NicheBio is developing breakthrough neuromodulation devices and bioelectronic medicine to treat diseases and injuries that are incurable with conventional pharmacological agents. We are building a cohesive team with complementary and multidisciplinary expertise to develop and bring our products to market. We are currently looking for a firmware engineer who wants to leave their comfort zone and apply their expertise to the field of bioelectronic medicine to design and develop innovative solutions to treat diseases and injuries. This is a unique opportunity to work on a project that has a direct and immediate impact on improving human life and needs an engineer who loves taking on challenging projects and exceeding expectations. You will also be exposed to all phases of medical device development as well as closely work with an energetic team filled with highly-varied domain expertise. Key responsibilities: Designing, developing, and testing firmware and embedded software for medical products and applications Solving critical, time-sensitive issues during medical product development and testing Collaborating and coordinating with team members to ensure all product requirements are met Optimizing code for system and unit level testing Developing and writing documentation for both engineering and regulatory purposes Following company software development procedures, including GitFlow Presenting status on code development efforts to project management and engineering team Generating innovative and unique solutions to market needs for the development of new or refined products, devices, processes or equipment Qualifications: MS degree in computer science or related field Minimum 2 years of industry experience in firmware development Hands-on experience with PCB verification and validation, lab measurements, and soldering Strong technical skills in C, C++ Familiar with communication protocols such as i2C, SPI, USB, CAN, TCP/IP, Bluetooth, and Wi-Fi communications Experience with Java/Python/Javascript Experience with Microsoft Azure/Amazon AWS/Google Cloud Experience with cybersecurity Experience in medical device development, FDA requirements, design controls, risk management Knowledge in neural interface and neuroengineering is a plus Communication and presentation skills Resourceful and tenacious Be willing to learn and acquire new knowledge What we offer: A unique opportunity to drive a revolution in medical practices and to significantly improve the health condition of patients A unique environment for you to exercise your talents and be impactful Medical, dental and vision insurance Employee stock options Last but not least, we are a small team and thus everyone plays a critical role - your voice will be heard clearly and loudly!
