Oyster Point Pharma, Inc. (OYST: Nasdaq) is a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company focused on the discovery, development, and commercialization of first-in-class pharmaceutical therapies to treat ocular surface diseases. Headquartered in Princeton, New Jersey, with an anticipated satellite office in Boston, Massachusetts, Oyster Point filed its first New Drug Application in Q4’ 2020 with an anticipated product launch in Q4’ 2021. This is an exciting time to join Oyster Point as it prepares to transition from a clinical stage company to a commercial enterprise.
The District Manager (DM) is a field-based Sales Leadership position with responsibility for leading a group of Specialty Account Managers to achieve established goals and objectives within the District. The District is made up of targeted Eye Care Professionals (ECPs) within an assigned geography and an assigned number of Account Managers that the DM will lead. The DM is responsible for sales goals, adherence to compliance standards, and responsible for fostering company culture and people development within the assigned District.
Meets & exceeds corporate sales objectives for the District within the assigned geographies
Plans, directs, implements, and has full oversight of Account Manager policies and activities for the specific geographical district by performing the following duties:
Recruits, retains, and develops high-performing Account Managers
Effectively assesses the developmental needs of the District, and provides individualized development and coaching guidance
Effectively drives performance of the District, while adhering to compliance and regulatory standards
Provides consistent, proactive, and individualized coaching to the Account Managers, and gives appropriate counsel to the sales team to overcome performance deficiencies.
Effectively demonstrates company culture norms through actions, leadership style, and collaboration with partners
Fosters and helps create a people-first, high-performing culture focused on collaboration, inclusiveness, and accountability
Effectively manages and allocates resources within the District Ensures execution and pull-through based on potential and growth opportunities
Ensures that Sales & Marketing plans are implemented effectively, and that execution is consistent with corporate goals and objectives
Works closely with Sales Leadership and HR to proactively address all personnel performance issues
Continually and proactively reviews District data and dashboards to analyze methods to appropriately obtain additional business and help understand business opportunities
Establishes and cultivates productive relationships with the Eyecare community and serves as an organizational Ambassador within the
district. Also serves as a conduit to key customers and Senior Leadership
Understands the Eyecare marketplace, and continually stays updated on the latest business developments within the district
Complies with all legal, regulatory, and compliance policies and demonstrate a high level of integrity and professionalism at all times
Coaching and developing top talent. Assesses talent to build strong, high-performing teams
Builds and Inspires. Possesses leadership skills that create an atmosphere and culture based on personal growth & development, accountability, achievement, and align with the organizational vision

Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university is required.
A valid driver’s license and ability to travel as needed (including overnights and/or weekends) is required.
Extensive overnight travel is expected.
May be required to work conferences during evenings and weekends as needed.
2-3+ years of management experience is preferred
6-8 years of pharmaceutical, medical or related sales experience with a proven track record in all aspects of technical knowledge, selling techniques, and comprehensive understanding of medical terminology.
Eyecare experience strongly preferred
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, applicable CRM, and similar databases
