This position will be stationed in Redwood City Ca at the Exo corporate headquarters with frequent (15%) travel after elimination of the company Covid 19 restrictions. Exo maintains a safe work environment so this will be a work from home position until the company has determined it is safe to return to an office environment.
You will be working directly with foundry R&D team and four established foundry suppliers in development, qualification, and sustaining engineering for advance ASIC and MEMS devices. This will include establishing long range company goals, budgets, and resource plans to deliver leading edge solutions in time and within budgets. This role has both technical and business focus.
Job responsibilities (but not limited to):
A key deliverable for 2021 in this role is qualification of our primary MEMS foundry for delivery of production capacity with reduced cycle times, higher yields, and reduced cost.
The role directly interfaces with our MEMS and ASIC R&D teams in development and qualification of new product and technology.
Direct interface across operations teams for delivery performance management and production planning required.
Direct interface to the regulatory and quality teams in management of produce quality, traceability, and compliance to FDA regulatory requirements.
As part of the rapidly expanding Exo team you will help drive evolution of the company culture based on design to production technology transfer and management of phase review processes which establish predictable, cost effective new product introductions.
Management of contract terms and pricing of foundry services.
Business relationship management in collaboration with the EVP of Operations and finance teams.
MS/PHD degree with a minimum of 10 years of experience in MEMS and ASIC foundry development and management.
Specific experience in leading MEMS production qualification and delivery in volumes. Specific experience in development of leading-edge technology required.
Medical device development experience highly desirable.
Proven ability to build and inspire engineering teams in a high paced environment.
Ability to recruit and retain world class teams.
Development of new grads and mentoring skills required.
Cross functional management experience required.
Specific experience in large MEMS devices and custom process development with a focus on resolution of complex process and yield problems.
Specific experience in failure analysis and device reliability problems.
Experience in six sigma process development and yield enhancement required
Thin film deposition on piezoelectric films, TSV fabrication, DRIE, metals deposition, dielectric deposition, lithography, and etch required.
High volume process, equipment, and materials development experience with a focus on cost reduction over volume curves and proven ability to drive continuous improvement required.
Experience in medical device manufacturing and class two medical device development a plus.
Experience managing multimillion-dollar annual budgets and executing projects to commit schedules and budgets.
Experience working with cross functional program management and phase gate processes required.
Contract negotiation experience a plus. Proven foundry relationship experience in a high paced dynamic production environment.
