Job Description Who We’re Looking For Do you live and breathe DevOps and like to stay up to date with new developments? Do you enjoy automating solutions for manual tasks? Do you write clear, concise documentation? Do you enjoy turning complexity into clarity with metrics and data visualization? Want to also help accelerate the pace of genomics and disease research? Then come join our team! Responsibilities Collaborating with engineering teams to optimize performance and scalability including autoscaling techniques. Managing incident response protocol and provide hands-on quarterbacking during major service interruptions. Testing and improving our disaster recovery procedures and automation. Working on automation and tooling and modernizing DevOps procedures. Working closely with the Security team and implementing security best practices. Documenting new procedures with precision on our DevOps wiki. Training new DevOps team members and support teams on how to debug and identify/solve issues. Qualifications Requirements 3-5 years Linux Server system administration experience in a large-scale cloud-based environment. (AWS preferred) 3-5 years of software development in a high-level programming language such as Python, Ruby, etc. Must be capable of writing clean, well-structured code. Experience with Docker and container orchestration solutions such as Kubernetes. Familiar with modern web infrastructure technologies, virtualization, clustering, load-balancing, autoscaling and content delivery networks like Akamai. Possess solid, demonstrated testing skills. Know how to work as part of a high performing team and can collaborate effectively. Have an insatiable appetite for technology. B.S. or higher in Computer Science or related field or applicable experience. Additional Experience Familiarity with Redis, SQS and MongoDB. Experience with monitoring tools and timeseries databases such as Prometheus. Experience setting up and managing Apache Spark clusters on AWS and Azure. Have implemented or are familiar with blue-green deployments and other strategies to minimize downtime. Local Candidates Preferred. Additional Information Why Our Work Is Important Science is social.
