You’ll partner with executive leadership to align everyone at Firefly around how we create financial value. You will report to the CEO with a dotted line to the executive chairman and board (eventually the audit committee). You’ll bring healthcare and fast-growth technology startup experience, and be mission-driven and goal-oriented.
You'll assess, develop, advise, implement, manage, continuously review and maintain financial and people-operations related activities.
Capital Markets, Funding, and Growth
Ensure Firefly is adequately funded by partnering with executive leadership to communicate frequently and effectively with our Board and current and potential investors about strategic goals, KPIs, financial plans, and results.
Be a key member of the team planning and executing Firefly’s growth strategy (where, when), and tactics (capital allocation to drive patient growth).
Strategy & Business Decisions
Partner with executive leadership and board to guide strategy and growth.
Collaborate with executive leadership and analytics lead to design, implement, and automate OKRs and KPIs to drive successful outcomes.
Negotiate complex, multi-year LOIs, and contracts with self-insured employers, care-delivery partners, and payers.
Financial Planning & Analysis
Engage with clinical leadership and experts to develop a comprehensive and dynamic understanding of cost drivers in our current and prospective patient populations, confirm the biggest pockets of impactable cost, and ensure we have a strategy to address them while building our capacity to manage cost in real-time.
Be responsible for financial modeling; budgeting; budget adherence and implementation as well as advising on capital allocation within departmental budgets.
Coordinate across Firefly on revenue tracking, collection, and recognition tied to per-member-per-month and fee-for-service revenue models.
Controls & Compliance
Manage legal affairs, including corporate and healthcare regulatory issues, and legal relationships. Ensure regulatory adherence while limiting impact on cost-effective operations and growth
Be responsible for Firefly’s infrastructure: physical plant including office and clinical space, asset acquisition and tracking, and supplies.
Coordinate with clinical leadership to ensure effective clinical operations, especially relating to credentialing, licensing, CMEs, coding, charging, and reporting on metrics as defined in clinical contracts.
Ensure patient and employee safety at all times.
Systems & Reporting
Manage vendor relationships across Firefly, with sole responsibility for legal, FinOps, POps relationships, and shared responsibility for product and clinically related relationships.
You'll be a good fit if you bring:
Experience scaling a healthcare related startup (required), and specific fluency with healthcare payments, claims, accounts receivable management as well risk-bearing (preferred)
10+ years financial experience
Startup environment experience dealing with rapid growth and change - preferably venture-backed series A/B/C/D
Bachelor’s Degree required, Master’s Degree preferred
Willingness to travel 20% of the time generally; and up to 50% in periods of launch & growth in new markets
